Our Design & Build Process

Initial Consultation

We'll start by talking with you about the piece of furniture you're considering. We invite you to visit our gallery in historic Lititz, PA to see the quality of our work and gather inspiration for your project. We'll take the time to understand your needs and make suggestions to craft a unique piece just for you.

We'll also discuss the type of wood you like best. We build the majority of our furniture using premium-grade cherry, walnut, ash, white oak and maple, harvested from our privately owned forest or from the Appalachian Mountains of Pennsylvania and New York.

Design Sketches

After our initial conversation we'll begin by sketching out the design for your furniture. We can easily modify a design from our gallery or create a completely new design. Depending your unique piece, we may sketch the design showing different heights, drawer configurations, scales or shapes.

We'll work with you until the design reflects your unique vision. Your input is very important to us, especially during the initial stages of the project.

The Build

After the final sketches are approved, we'll begin the build process, keeping you involved every step of the way. You'll receive pictures from us throughout the process from wood selection and dry fitting to the final finishing process. Feel free to ask questions at any point. We're always available to assist you.

Delivery

Shortly before the completion of your project, we'll contact you to arrange delivery. We personally hand-deliver most pieces using our truck whenever possible. For long-distance orders, our furniture is carefully crated, insured and shipped by common carrier to your home or business. We will provide a quote for shipping.

For as long as the original owner has a piece of Morton Fine Furniture, We will stand behind our workmanship and Materials and will repair or replace for free.
