Exceptional Furniture Starts with a Proven Design/Build Process

The Morton Fine Furniture Process

Every step of Thomas’ process has been tried, tested, and proven to be both efficient and supportive of his artistry. You can count on taking delivery of furniture that’s beautiful, suited to your specific needs, and built to last.

Step One: Initial Consultation

Thomas will speak with you about the furniture you’re considering—at our gallery in Lititz, PA whenever possible so you can see the quality of his work while gathering inspiration for the finished product.

Thomas will take the time to understand your needs and make suggestions to craft a piece that’s unique to you. He’ll also cover the types of wood that are available—including premium-grade cherry, walnut, ash, white oak, and maple harvested from his privately owned woodland or the Appalachian Mountains of Pennsylvania and New York.

Step Two: Design Sketches

After your initial conversation, Thomas will sketch the design for your furniture. He can modify a design from the gallery or create an entirely new piece. Depending on your preferred piece, he may sketch the design showing varying heights, drawer configurations, scales, or shapes.

Thomas is happy to work with you until the design reflects your unique vision. Your input is very important to us, especially during the initial stages of the project.

Step Three: The Build

After the final sketches are approved, Thomas will begin the build process, keeping you informed and involved every step of the way. You’ll receive pictures from him throughout the process—everything from wood selection and dry fitting to final finishing. You are encouraged to ask questions at any point—Thomas endeavors to make himself available to you.

Step Four: Delivery

Shortly before the completion of your project, Thomas will contact you to arrange delivery. Whenever possible, his personnel will hand-deliver your furniture using the Morton Fine Furniture truck.

For long-distance orders, your furniture will be carefully crated, insured, and shipped by common carrier to your home or business—according to the shipping quote provided to you earlier in the process.

Step Five: The Guarantee

For as long as you, the original owner of your piece of Morton Fine Furniture, owns it, Thomas will stand behind his workmanship and materials with repair or replacement at no cost to you.
